The legal services watchdog has criticised the practice of solicitors charging hundreds of euro for the release of wills stored on their premises.

Under no circumstances should the handing over of a will be made conditional on the payment of a so-called “storage fee”, the Legal Services Regulatory Authority (LSRA) said.
